The members of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Carmichael, enjoy offering to our community this library and bookstore as an outreach to share an inspirational environment with those on a spiritual quest. It is a forum for spiritual thinkers, a peaceful place and “quiet sanctuary”, yet lively with ideas! We also like to share http://www.spirituality.com and related websites in our computer corner.

The Reading Room is a good place to study and pray; to ask questions; to research the powerful, spiritual ideas in the Bible and the writings of Mary Baker Eddy; to read the Christian Science Monitor, the international newspaper she founded “to injure no man but to bless all mankind”; to read accounts of her discovery of Christian Science in several authentic biographies about her life and work.

You are invited to come into the Reading Room to read, borrow or purchase these books and all Christian Science literature including our daily, weekly and monthly publications:

·         The Christian Science Monitor. Published weekdays. To read online or to subscribe click on its picture below.

·         The Christian Science Sentinel watches the world from a “spiritual perspective” and includes reports of healing. Weekly issues from 1898 to present.

·         The Christian Science Journal has articles on the practice of Christian Science and reports of healing. Monthly issues from 1883 to present.

·         The Christian Science Quarterly contains citations for the weekly Bible Lesson read at the Sunday Service and used for study during the week. The monthly Full-Text version contains the entire text of each of the weekly Bible Lessons for the month.   The monthly Full-Text is also available on cassette and CD.

·         Bible reference books and inspirational CDs are also available.
