|Employment Opportunity for a Christian Science
Assisted Living and Community Resource
to welcome you to our staff!
We have a immediate need for a Christian Science nurse
If you enjoy working in a relaxed environment and are a strong metaphysician
with great Christian Science nursing skills and judgement, we'd love to talk with you!
Home is Our Specialty!
Community for Christian Scientists has created a warm home-like environment in our five-bedroom house unlike the formal setting
of larger facilities. Working here is like a family get-together where everyone pitches in and supports each other. Each resident
is treated like family and receives excellent individualized care. They are benefited by living an atmosphere of family love
where their needs are met by an attentive, loving staff. Overall, divine Love has shown the way for Redwood Community
to provide a healing atmosphere where residents, staff and volunteers find community and can safely continue to rely on God
and to progress spiritually. If you aren’t yet
familiar with us, please visit our website by clicking here.
Serve as a resource!
With our new Home Care Program, you will also have the
opportunity to work in the field supporting church members with preparing meals, cleansing and bandaging, and mobility needs.
We are the only Christian Science nursing resource in 5 counties, so we are needed! And so are you!
we do is based on the standard of Christian Science nursing. An active practice of Christian Science in your personal and
professional life, along with sound judgement and great Christian Science nursing skills would be a great start. As
you would be working alone, it's also important to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision. We are also
unique in that while on shift you would have complete responsibility for the activity of the house/residents including care
of the residents, housekeeping, laundry, meal planning, preparation, service and cleanup, and activities...a most joyous way
Call us...we'd love to hear from you and talk with you about joining

Mark your calendar for this upcoming Christian Science lecture! Guest speaker Mary Alice Rose of Maryland
will speak on “The Science of Christianity” Sunday afternoon, May 1st, at the Waynesboro
Public Library (600 South Wayne Avenue). The program begins at 2:30 in the community meeting room.
Science and Christianity. What’s the connection? In her talk, Rose explores the significance of
the spiritual law, “God is Love”, from the book of First John in the Bible, and shares examples that illustrate
that law in action. As a former physical scientist, she sees parallels between the study of physical science and the
study of Christian Science, and will share these insights.
Rose’s early interest in
science and technology lead her
to a 20-year career in applied physical science. She worked as a meteorologist for the National Severe Storms Laboratory
and as a manager developing the ground system for the Hubble Space Telescope. In 2002, she made the transition to the
full-time ministry as a Christian Science practitioner. She is now an authorized teacher of this Science, and lectures internationally
as a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
Another, videotaped, talk by Rose
— on the relevance of church in our digital age may be viewed on You-tube.
The Waynesboro Public library is located at 600 South Wayne Avenue, at the corner of 14th street. Outdoor ushers will be on hand to direct you
to the downstairs entrance off the Library’s rear parking lot. If coming from out of town, take I-64 to exit
94. At the end of the ramp, turn right (north) on route 340 (Rosser Avenue). At 2.2 miles, past the cemetery, turn right
on 13th Street. Take 13th street to Wayne Avenue (.9 miles). Turn right onto Wayne Avenue. The library will be on your left,
at the corner of 14th St.
The space is very accessible — no stairs, and doors will be open by 2 pm.
The event is co-sponsored by this church (First Church of Christ, Scientist, Waynesboro) and First Church of Christ,
Scientist, Charlottesville. If you would like help with transportation, use the “contact
us” page to send an email. Our lecture chair will
get back to you.
