What is Christian Science?
· Christian Science, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, is a universal, practical system of spiritual, prayer-based Christian healing, available and accessible to everyone.
· Christian Science is fully explained in Mary Baker Eddy’s primary text on spirituality and healing, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
· Christian Science has helped many people find better emotional and physical health, answers to life’s deepest issues and progress on their spiritual journeys.
· Many Christian Scientists are members of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, but membership in The Church is not a prerequisite for the practice of Christian Science.
· Healthcare decisions are always a matter of individual choice
Who is Mary Baker Eddy?
Mary Baker Eddy is the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and the author of the foundational work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.
Throughout her youth and early adulthood, Mary Baker Eddy faced poor health and financial and emotional hardship. She overcame these challenges to become one of the most prominent individuals of her day. Toward the end of her life, Human Life magazine described her as “the most famous, interesting and powerful woman in America, if not in the world, today.”
She continues to be regarded as one of history’s more remarkable figures. Today, her primary work, Science and Health, engages readers around the world.
We welcome children up to the age of 20 in our Sunday School. We currently staff four classes: toddlers (3 to 6); elementary school; junior high school (6th,7th and 8th grade) and high school (9th-12th).
About once per month our Sunday School teachers and students join the congregation for singing of the 3rd hymn in the church service.
ChildcareWe provide childcare for both our Sunday and Wednesday evening services. Staffed by church members we provide a caring environment for those who are too young to enter Sunday School
Currently our Reading Room is located next to the foyer of the church. There is a retail room where you may purchase all authorized Christian Science literature including, The Christian Science; Bible Lesson, Sentinel, and Journal, plus copies of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
In addition to the retail room, there are three study rooms, one of which is equipped with a computer and printer with broadband access to the internet.
