Christian Science
Christian Science is based on the healing truth Christ Jesus preached and practiced.
Over
a century ago, Mary Baker Eddy experienced a remarkable physical healing while reading an account of one of Jesus’ healing
works in the Bible. Afterward, she continued to study the Bible diligently, in order to understand how her healing was accomplished,
and rediscovered the healing mission of Jesus’ ministry. She named her discovery Christian Science, and established
The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.
The church was “designed to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity
and its lost element of healing.”
This
church, First Church of Christ, Scientist, Grass Valley, is a branch of that church, and is part of its world-wide movement.

All are Welcome
You are warmly invited to attend our Sunday Service, which begins at 10:00 a.m. It consists mainly
of a sermon read from the Bible and our textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In 1895 Mrs.
Eddy ordained these books as the only pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist. At all our services you’ll also enjoy congregational singing and beautiful music played on our 2-manual pipe organ.
Our Wednesday Testimony Meeting is held at
7:30 p.m. It includes readings from the Bible and Science and Health, and a time to share testimonies of healing
or remarks on Christian Science.
Sunday
School is conducted at 10:00 a.m. and is open to young people up to the age of 20. Students are taught the Ten Commandments,
the Lord’s Prayer, the Beatitudes, and other concepts of Christian Science and how they can be applied in their everyday
lives.
The staff in our Children’s Room lovingly cares for
infants and those too young to attend church or Sunday School.
